For the parents of children wishing to try a musical instrument, the descant recorder is ideal as it offers the minimum outlay to see if the child is suited to music. With many of the finger positions principally the same as other woodwind instruments, such as the flute and saxaphone, the recorder provides a good foundation for the younger student before they are able to cope with a larger instrument.

Tuition is available on a one-to-one basis from ages 6 years upwards using special childrens books. The option is provided for taking examinations with the 'Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music', ranging from the new assessment level through to grades 1-5.

Performing is naturally encouraged in Perfect Notes concerts, helping to build confidence not only for a future in music but life in general..
