Clarinet

We offer clarinet lessons to both children and adults, 8 years old being the minimum age for a trial lesson. No previous musical knowledge is assumed and lessons are taught either on a one-to-one basis or in small groups. Students do need to provide their own instrument and regular practice at home is essential for musical development.

To encourage ensemble playing, duets with the teacher and piano accompanied playing is introduced early on in the lessons. There is also the opportunity to play with other students at the Perfect Notes concerts.

For those wishing to measure their progress or gain recognized qualifications, students can be entered for examinations through the ‘Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music’.
